About the cooking blog...

We enjoy a good meal. 99 out of 100 times, this good meal takes place in our kitchen. We don't eat out very often, and when we do, we're rarely "wow-ed" by the food we get. The following are recipes that have passed through our kitchen. They're not always winners, but we'll tell you if they're not, and what should be changed to make them better. Enjoy!

Christmas in Lexington!!!

This update will be more of a slideshow / collection of pictures than the normal updates… the thing is.. there are just sooo many pictures of different foods… and cooking.. that an entire recipe book could be filled with a fraction of the pictures that will be featured here…

Some are family secrets… some, you couldn’t make because you likely don’t have the right equipment… but in any case, detailed descriptions won’t be given… so… enjoy the pictures…

First up… fruitcake cookies… now.. many folks don’t like fruitcake.. but these Page family cookies are delicious.. soft… a little chewiness with the fruit… and just generally awesome.

Then.. it was to the Trovato house to watch dad make Pecan Balls

Then… it was time for Cialdes …

Then, it was time for Polish Chrusciki cookies…

Then mom got into it with some Chocolate Chip cookies….

And Rachel made Buffalo Chicken dip…

and Mom made oatmeal cookies…

Then.. it was to the Page house to make Turkey roll….

and Mom made Chicken and Cream Cheese Croissants….

There was much more food of every variety…. lasagna… pork loin… ham… cole slaw.. breads of all types… Virginia and I made a banana cake… it was 10 days of ridiculousness… but… now we’re back in Boone… Virginia’s parents gave us a very generous Christmas gift that will allow us to get a new Kitchen Aid mixer… Martha gave us a very generous gift card to Omaha Steaks…. My folks gave us plates, trays, an tablecloths for entertaining… and all manners of fancy teas and whatnot… so… the food blog should be getting back on a somewhat normal schedule soon…

  3. Rachel can not have a camera in the room without making a goofy face... there's no such thing as a candid shot with her in the room.
